Preferred Teaching Style: I prefer to teach by guiding students through practice problems, to reinforce application concepts and identify gaps of knowledge, as well as talking through a combination of flowcharts, diagrams and multiple choice questions to explain content. I find using a variety of teaching methods can help students identify how they learn best, increase understanding and build confidence in former challenge areas. I then try to accommodate each students preferred teaching style into my lesson plan. Overall, I try to create a welcoming and supportive environment, encouraging questions and always ensuring a student understands a concept before moving on.
