Preferred Teaching Style: I believe that if a student is struggling to learn certain topics, the problem might be that they don't have a complete understanding of the basic/foundational material. Thus, I like to build up knowledge by reviewing and/or re-teaching the basics (if needed), before jumping into harder topics. When teaching, I like to focus on understanding. I use simple terms along visual aids to explain things, and I like to ask the students questions during my explanation, so that they can build on their own knowledge and reach conclusions themselves. This way, students have a full understanding of material, and are able to apply their knowledge when it comes to exams. I'm also very question-oriented when it comes to understanding. If students have any questions that may go beyond the things they learn, but helps them understand the material, I'm happy to answer them!
