Safa Rjaibi

CA$0.00

Hi everyone! My name is Safa and I’m currently in my second year of the Chemical Biology program. I’m super excited to be an MSS tutor and share all the tips and tricks I learned in first year :) When I’m not trapped studying at Thode or Mills, I like to go for runs, draw, or explore new places!

Year/Program: Chemical Biology II

McMaster Email: rjaibs1@mcmaster.ca

Languages: English,

Preferred Teaching Style: When teaching, I love to use a lot of visuals as it helps to keep things clear and organized. I’m also a huge fan of the active learning method, which allows students to engage with the material they’re learning, instead of the tutor just talking at them. I believe this method leads to better understanding since students are directly involved in the learning process! In my tutor sessions, you can expect us to first solidify foundational knowledge before exploring practice problems (of varying difficulty) that we’ll approach using the socratic method (asking the student specific questions that direct them to the solution). We’ll focus more so on the problem-solving strategies and reasoning behind solutions, rather than the solutions themselves. I don’t want students to know how to solve only that one specific question— the goal is to build the reasoning skills and knowledge necessary to solve any problem! If that sounds like your vibe, feel free to reach out if you need any help :)
