About Me

Hey MacSci! My name is Manya and I'm going into my third year of Honours Life Sciences. This is my first year on the MSS exec team and I'm really looking forward to all the events planned for this year (especially formaldehyde!). I'm also excited to work with the rest of the MSS team and getting to know the MacSci community better. One of my top priorities this year is making sure that more students know about the student grants and funds offered by the MSS.I'm almost always on campus and my friends joke that I practically live there; especially on MUSC second floor. Find me watching basketball highlights and always with a coffee in my hand. In the evenings, I'm dragging my friends to Pulse to work out with me and trying new recipes. Some of my other hobbies include painting, reading, and re-watching my favourite TV shows over again. I enjoy meeting new people, so if you ever see me around, don't hesitate to come and say hi!

Goals

1. Implement improvements to make the application process for student grants and funds more streamlined, user-friendly, and accessible.
2. Ensure that the inquiries of students regarding all grants and funds are addressed, and the community is actively informed of the allocation process.
3. Monitor finances and previously funded projects while ensuring the accounting of all proper documentation.

Projects

1. Host a engaging Student Grants and Funds Showcase Event.
2. Updating SOG and SIF processes to match with the overall EDI goals of the MSS
3. Use the MSS's social media platforms to raise awareness about the grants and funds opportunities available to students
