About Me

Hello MacSci! My name is Matthew, and I am so excited to serve as this year’s Policy and Bylaws Officer for the McMaster Science Society. This is my second time on the MSS, but my first time working within the Internal Portfolio. I’m excited to bring my passion for policy, equity, and student representation to this role.

As the Policy and Bylaws Officer, my primary goal is to update and clean up all MSS policies to ensure they are current, clear, and accessible. I am also committed to streamlining policy records for future years.

You can most likely find me sitting on benches around campus or attending MSS events. Say hi if you see me around!

Goals

1. Conduct a comprehensive review and update of all MSS policies to ensure they are current, clear, and accessible.

2. Foster better understanding and engagement with our policies among students.

3. Implement equity-based changes across policies to ensure they are inclusive and representative of the diverse needs of the MSS membership.

Projects

1. Update and reformat all existing MSS policies, ensuring they are clear, consistent, and reflective of our current practices and values.

2. Conduct an audit of all MSS policies to ensure they are inclusive and representative of the diverse needs of the MSS membership.

3. Standardize and streamline records management for the Policy and Bylaws Officer role.
